Although 34 year old Douglas Colt might be a successful associate attorney at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges today, he’s no stranger to blue collar work.

At the tender age of 9, Douglas Colt started his first job washing dishes at Giuseppe’s Old Depot Restaurant in Colorado Springs. His father, Edward Colt, founded the restaurant in the 1960’s.  The historic building into which Giuseppe’s moved in the early 1970’s served as the train station for Colorado Springs from 1871 to 1971.  Giuseppe’s is now the second largest restaurant in Colorado.  It continues to provide Colorado Spring locals and tourists with a peek into a more gracious style of dining. By age 11, Douglas Colt was bussing tables at Giuseppe’s and soon after was waiting tables and manning the cash register. His earnings allowed him to pay his own way through high school at Cheyenne Mountain High School and most of college at Washington University in Saint Louis, MO.

He would go on to study law at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. before gaining invaluable litigation experience at Coddington, Hicks & Danforth.  He then moved to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges where he is now a Senior Litigation Associate. As a lawyer, his areas of specialization include Trademark, False Advertising, Copyright, Unfair Competition, Trade Secret, and Commercial Litigation.
